For Those Who Fail the Test

In Quranic theology, moral accountability is central: actions in this life have consequences in the next.

The following verses emphasize regret after death and the seriousness of ignoring guidance:

"When death approaches any of them, they cry, 'My Lord! Let me go back, so I may do good in what I left behind.' Never! It is only a useless appeal they make."

Surah Al-Mu'minun 23:99-100

"O you who believe, save yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is men and stones."

Surah At-Tahrim 66:6

"If only you could see the wicked hanging their heads in shame before their Lord, crying: 'Our Lord! We have now seen and heard, so send us back and we will do good. We truly have sure faith now!'"

Surah As-Sajdah 32:12

"The Day their faces will be turned over in the Fire, they will say, 'How we wish we had obeyed God and obeyed the Messenger.'"

Surah Al-Ahzab 33:66
